Scholarships
We believe that everyone who wants to row should be able to row, regardless of background or economic circumstance. To serve this mission, the McLean Rowing Foundation provides need-based rowing scholarships. Scholarship funds are awarded based on participation in the free and reduced lunch program AND the participant’s ability to meet club expectations (e.g. volunteering). Partial and full scholarships are available.

What We Offer
Fees
Based on your award level, we'll cover 25%, 50%, 75%, or 100% of learn to row registration and Regatta fees (e.g., Stotesbury). Membership fees are not supported at this time, but may be in the future depending on available funds.
UniforM &
Gear
We will purchase or obtain gently used uniforms and training gear for scholarship award recipients.
Swim
If you're uncomfortable in the water or don't know how to swim, we will help you find lessons so you can pass your swim test for rowing!
Transport
Need help getting to or from practice? We will coordinate with parents and volunteers to help you get there!

Retain Our Support
Scholarship funds are dedicated to making rowing possible for athletes and families demonstrating significant financial need. Each application is assessed on the same criteria (i.e., free and reduced lunch participation). In order to retain a scholarship award athletes are expected to remain in good standing by meeting all expectations that your crew team defines (e.g., volunteer requirements, fundraising goals, code of conduct).
